"He was everything you would ever want a son to be," Stanley's parents recalled. The 1966 Roxborough High School graduate bad sound business sense and excelled at mathematics, putting both to good use as chairman of his senior prom committee. He worked as a ,junior accountant at Whitman Chocolate Co., studying accounting in the evenings at Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science before being drafted into the Army in March 1968. The 19-year-old private first class had been assigned to Company B of the 1st Battalion, 61st Infantry, in Vietnam for a month when he died on Sept. 2, 1968. He was survived by his wife. parents and four brothers.
