Both James Snock and his twin brother, Frank, served with the Marines in Vietnam. James Snock died in the Philadelphia Naval Hospital on Sept. 3, 1967, from injuries sustained in Da Nang, Quang Nam Province, the previous April. He bad been an automatic rifleman in Company E of the 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division. The 1965 Father Judge High School graduate was remembered by teachers and friends as being one of a pait' of fun-loving brothers who were active in high school activities and long on school spirit, He attended Pennsylvania Institute of Technology and worked for a year as a detailer for a firm producing mechanical drawings before he joined the Marine Corps in September 1966. In addition to his brother, the 20-year-old private first class was survived by his parents and a sister.
