The 21-year-old sergeant, a native of Germany, had clerked and worked as a cashier at an Acme supermarket for four years after leaving Germantown High School. He was drafted into the Army in March 1966 and assigned to Company A of the 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry J73rd Airborne Brigade, in Vietnarn. The Squad leader died there on November 20th 1967. He was survived by his wife and mother.
